Four Wildcats Tabbed D1A All-Americans

Four Central Washington University Women's Rugby athletes were recognized by the College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) with D1A All-American honors, the Association announced Saturday.

"Congratulations to the four selected as All-Americans," CWU Head Women's Rugby Coach Matt Ramirez said. "It's a great achievement and recognition for themselves and a showcase for the program as a whole and what it takes to compete at that Division 1 level. You know each match is against some of the top players in the nation week in, week out. And there were definitely others that put their hand up for selection as well that put in the care and effort on and off the field."

But they will all tell you that individual recognition is nice, but it's about the team. And everybody had to do their part each day to make things happen. The connection this team had season was unbelievable. It took everyone past and present to set the tone and it was amazing to be a part of it. Even with the sudden and heartbreaking news of the programs, it won't ever dampen the brightness of the future of these amazing people. Looking forward to seeing all of their continued success."

"We are incredibly proud of these athletes and the programs that support them," said Women's D1A Commissioner Josh Sutcliffe. "Their dedication to the sport and their academic institutions is truly inspiring. The All-American designation is a testament to their hard work and passion for rugby."

Earning the honor is Shaylee Coulter-Fa'amafu, Ane Eteuini, Jessica Postle, and Lilly Thomas.

Coulter-Fa'amafu, Postle, and Thomas all are earning the distinction for the second time after all three garnered it last year while Eteuini is gathering her first All-American honor in her career. Thomas recently traveled to France as a member of the USA Women's 7s squad.
